Seco Tools (UK) and Edgecam have
joined forces and are holding three Roadshows in April and May to help launch
two new advanced turning products into the market.
The Roadshows, taking place at venues in Alcester, Milton Keynes and Glasgow, are available free of charge, and are aimed at precision component manufacturers looking for the latest turning innovations and best practice turning solutions.
Says Secos Sales & Marketing Manager, Mike Fleming:
2015 is a momentous year for turning technology. Its not only the year when our new Duratomic® insert technology will be launched; its also the time when our technical partner, Edgecam, will introduce its new Waveform Turning strategy.
To help promote these two new turning solutions weve mobilised both companys resources and are taking the products (quite literally) to market via three Roadshows. These events are unique and are amongst the first time that manufacturers will be able to see both products up close and being put through their paces.
Although Duratomic® and Waveform are standalone products and can be used independently, they can also complement each other too and the Roadshows, combining in-depth presentations with machining demonstrations, will highlight the individual strengths of each product and the synergies that can be achieved when working together.
Duratomic® technology
Secos next generation Duratomic® insert technology, which will be officially introduced by the company at the beginning of April, comprises three new grades for all steel and stainless steel applications.
The new insert technology delivers outstanding performance and provides customers with a number of productivity and performance improvements over the companys original Duratomic® inserts first introduced in 2007. These advantages include:
IMPROVED WEAR EDGE DETECTION
INCREASED EDGE PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY
IMPROVED WEAR RESISTANCE AND TOOL (INSERT) LIFE
Extensive field tests undertaken by Seco have proven that new Duratomic® inserts deliver improved productivity, efficiency and reliability.
Waveform (2015R1)
Waveform is Edgecams latest roughing strategy solution for high-speed machining that maintains a constant tool cutting load by ensuring that a tools engagement in the work-piece remains consistent.
The tool path created using Waveform is smooth and avoids sharp changes in direction which, in turn, eliminates fresh air cuts, ensures that optimum speeds, feeds and depths of cut can be employed, and that a tools life is prolonged.
By using Waveform manufacturers will be able to:
REDUCE PART CYCLE TIMES
IMPROVE TOOL LIFE
MAINTAIN CONSTANT CHIP LOADS
INCREASE MACHINING DATA
Places at all three venues are limited and manufacturers are requested to contact Nicki Adams at Seco Tools to reserve their place.
Roadshow dates:
28th April 2015: Seco Tools UK's Technical Centre, Alcester
12TH May 2015: Hexagon Metrology Precision Centre, Milton Keynes
